2017 Weekly Bits: I

Celebrated:: 4th Anniversary
  • Michael and I celebrated our four year anniversary this week. I know our fifth year together is going to be one for the books. I could not be more thankful to be spending forever with such a genuine and fun-loving guy. I wouldn't trade him for the world.
Cancelled:: Bridesmaid dress shopping
  • I have had a day full of brunch and dress shopping with all of my bridesmaids planned on Saturday for months but Mother Nature had to step in and make me cancel those plans. Apparently we are in for a huge ice storm this weekend and I didn't want to make anyone get out in the bad weather so we are going to have to reschedule. Hoping we can find another day when all of the girls can make it!
Bought:: Apple Watch
  • Guys, I know I didn't need it, but I really, really wanted it! I've been working out with one of my girlfriends who wears one regularly and well...consider me jealous. She gets to see her heart rate and how many calories she's burning during every workout. I want that! So I bought one. :)
  • If you know me at all, you know how picky of an eater I am. Vegetables are not my thing, but the fitness program I am doing requires me to eat A LOT of vegetables. Eight cups a day to be exact. It has been a real struggle for me, but I am getting there. A month ago, if you asked me if I liked broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, or spinach I would have said hell no. Today, they're okay. #Progress

2017 Goals

Is it just me, or did 2016 just fly by? I am not sure how it's already 2017, but, here we are, and I am not mad about it. This is going to be a GREAT year for me, and I am looking forward to everything that it will bring. I wanted to set a few goals for myself in 2017, and thought I would share them here for a little motivation and accountability.
  • Be healthier
    • Cliche, I know, but since I moved to my current town a couple years ago, I really fell off the health and fitness wagon. I stopped eating healthy and working out quickly became an unwanted chore. Needless to say, I'm the heaviest I've ever been and unhappy with where I am at health wise. With our wedding just nine months away, what better time than now to get back at it? I have started a weight lifting program with one of my girlfriends and we are now two weeks in. I can already tell a huge difference in my eating habits and can't wait to see what kind of results the workouts bring.
  • Spend more time with family
    • We always try to spend as much time as possible with our families, but let's face it, sometimes life gets busy. This year I'd like to focus on enjoying more time with both Michael's and my family. I'm hoping we can get a weekly dinner or game night together with his family and see mine more than just a couple times a month.
  • Run at least 3 races
    • This goes along with the first goal, but I'd like to complete 3 official races this year. In 2015 I completed 5-10, and then last year I only did Once the weather gets nicer (go away ice storm), I intend to get back to running on a regular basis.
  • Blog more regularly
    • Last year held a lot of changes for me and as you can tell, my blogging kind of went on the back burner. Now that I'm settled in my new job and am planning a wedding, I hope to get back to blogging regularly! Be on the lookout for a lot of wedding-related posts this year!
  • Spread joy
    • Who doesn't love it when someone does something thoughtful for them? Be it a friend or even just a stranger, I want to spread joy and positive vibes this year through kindness and I also want to focus more on the positive things in my own life. These days, I think the world could use just a little extra kindness.

What are some of your goals for the year?
