May Line Up

I'm a little late on my May line up, but better late than never right?!
  • Coloring Club
    • I joined a couple friends this week for another round of coloring club at Urban Chestnut  Brewery. Can't beat sipping a couple beers while coloring some plants!
  • Mother's Day Festivities
    • Since I won't be able to make it home on Mother's Day, I decided to head home today and spend some time with my mom. Our plans include sipping margaritas for Cinco de Mayo, going to Rosebud for some antiquing, and hanging out with my adorable nephews (and of course their mom and dad too!).
  • Parachute Concert
    • A couple friends and I will be heading to the Parachute concert at Old Rock House this weekend. This will be my third time seeing them and I am extremely excited! They are so great live.
  • New Job
    • I'll be starting my new job next week! Wish me luck!
  • Wedding
    • A couple of Michael and my friend's are getting married this month! I can't wait for their wedding, it is going to be a blast!
  • Cedar Lakes Cellar
    • Some girlfriends and I are going to head to the winery on Memorial Day weekend to sip some wine and have much need girl time!
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!

Moving On

As our last years of college started to wind down, my girlfriends and I swore that we'd all get jobs in St. Louis and continue our friendship in the "big city".  So, I was thrilled when I was offered a position working for a robotics company just outside of St. Louis. It's crazy to think that was five and a half years ago, and today will be my last day working for that company.

Looking back on the past five+ years, I realize how fortunate I have been to have landed this job. While there have been many trials (and I'll admit, even tears) over the past several years, I have also been provided with an outstanding opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. Back in 2011, I started here as a timid Purchasing Specialist. I quickly grew out of that timidness as I gained confidence in myself and my knowledge of the industry started to grow. Within two and a half years, I was promoted to Accounting Manager and always tried my best to prove myself worthy of that role.

Over the past couple years, I have been able to build a team that I am proud of and become a mentor to those who work for me. I have been able to further my accounting knowledge and become a valuable resource within the company. I have made lifelong friends. I feel that I have truly met all of the goals that I set for myself when I started my first "adult" job. So, with that, I know that it is now time for me to move on.

There are big changes coming my way and I couldn't be more excited to start this new adventure. I know that there is still so much for me to learn and I am eager to continue to grow my knowledge and my career. While the idea of starting over seems a bit scary, I just know that this leap of faith is going to bring great things.

Cheers to the next chapter of this crazy book called life!
